say i go with hostgators baby plan: unlimited domains/disk space/bandwidth
now does this mean that i can pick up some cheap .com’s or .info’s from whoever, change the nameservers, and voila – upload some html pages or whatever and im good to go!? or am i missing something here?!??!
ive heard that hostgator hosting is the way to go or should i look into something else?!
p.s. i don’t care about mysql or any special jazz – im just looking to host some static pages.

Well, this is really something you should be asking Host Gator. However, from looking at their website, it looks like the Baby Plan gives you UNLMIMITED (their caps, not mine) domains. That means you can have any many different URLs as you want, all pointing to different web sites. The sites will be hosted by them, and the disk space shared (but since that is UNLIMITED too, it doesn’t matter).
You shouldn’t have to buy the domain name from them (.com, .info, etc.), but if they sell them, you can (I buy mine from directNIC–always had good luck). Once you get everything set up, Host Gator will give you an IP address. You tell whoever you bought the domain name from to have the name point to that IP address.
However, this is just based on past experience, YMMV. If you don’t like Hot Gator, or they don’t give you decent service, I’ve always had good luck with QWK.net. I’ve always been able to talk to a real person, quickly. HTH

1.-How does it make money? I know it has something to do with affiliate links but im still confused and where would you put the affiliate links. Please explain where the money from an autoblog comes from.
2.- What makes an autoblog? Sites tell you to make good money with autoblogs to have a lot and theres people with over 200 autoblogs and stuff. Is an autoblog 1 site and 1 domain or is it each one of my blog posts. Please explain im confused in that area too.

I’ve got 8 sites hosted by Hostgator on their Baby plan (unlimited domains and bandwidth). There is only one cPanel. I’ve started to put Adsense on the sites, and it got me wondering: If one of my sites got Google Slapped, would it effect all the other sites? Would they, by default, be slapped too?

Sites sharing the same IP address are safe simply because shored hosting routinely put hundreds of accounts on the same IP address/server.
Links between your different sites would be the biggest giveaway, (anyway there’s limited seo value in linking sites sharing the same IP.)
