I want to host my web site… who to go with?
I’m a contractor / remodeler looking to provide a website for my clients to get some background info… and most importantly, to view pictures of all the different remodels I have done. I’ve looked at hostmonster and hostgator. I already have a domain which I got through yahoo some time ago… but they want too much to keep the domain going through them. I see that hostmonster will transfer my domain (free of charge?). I plan to use their tools to build my website using their templates, etc… My main concern is reliability that the website will not have issues. I have lots of photos and testimonials and just want an inexpensive way to provide this info to my customers. What has been your experience with them and which one is more user friendly. I’m pretty capable and know my way around a computer… but wanted to get some feedback from others who have gone down this road.
I’m not set on gator or monster as of yet. I’m open to whichever site will provide me with a large variety of tools to customize my website and put my own twists on it.
Thanks!
What about justhost.com? Any users that can comment?

I’ve used HostGator.com for a couple of years and I’m happy with it. I just transfered some domains from Yahoo! to HostGator. Yahoo! wanted $34.95 US per year to keep the DNS there. I transfered to HostGator for $15.00 for each domain and I believe that this includes adding another year to each domain name, in addition to how much time you already have for each domain.
You can try HostGator for free. I suggest the account that costs $9.95 when paid monthly. You get A LOT for just a little. They have good 24/7 support via Web chat.
I could help you with HostGator for free because if you keep the service, I would get a finder’s fee.
If you want me to assist you with HostGator, you could mention my primary domain and I would get a finder’s fee.

How to purchase a domain (with hosting) online, considering the fact that I have no credit card/paypal money?
Hi, and thank you for looking at my question.
Basically, I am looking to purchase a domain with hosting (online of course). The problem is, that I have no credit card (I am under 18 and don’t have parental consent) + the fact that I have $0.00 in my paypal (due to the foregoing reason). However, I really need to get a domain. Is there any possible way to raise just a little money into my paypal account without the use of credit card/bank transfer?
Or, by any little chance, would you kind souls like to invest in purchasing the domain for me(by transferring a little sum of money to my paypal)? I’m doing internet marketing with this domain I’m purchasing and am sure to rake in profits. Thus, be sure that I will return you the money lent with high interest on it. (please don’t mark this as a violation, I’m just highly desperate…)
My third question : What would be a good site to purchase domain and hosting? From several sources I see that GoDaddy is extremely popular… As well as HostGator. My personal choice in mind is JustHost.com, recommended by a friend. It offers hosting with free domain, at merely $2.95 per month. May I ask the opinion of you people, which is the best provider?
Thanks in advance
Just to add, I’m Singaporean (Asian if you’d prefer in general), and I think the culture of parenting here is much different compared to that of the west. Simply said, my parents are strict and all and they refer to what I’m doing as ‘a waste of time’ and they would ask me to go study every time I mention this. This is the reason why ‘I don’t have parental consent’. And I was wondering if I could send cash over snail-mail….
@Waco : I don’t have older friends.
@Waco : I don’t have older friends.
@Waco : Thats a great idea but I don’t have older friends. (sorry for multiple posts… i’ve no idea why either)

not sure you can…
why won’t your parents consent? if it is that good of an idea, and sure to be so profitable, I don’t see why they wouldn’t consent… there are a lot worse things kids your age could be doing… unless this in itself is a scam?
I would bet you have $10.00, so get an older friend to use his credit card, and pay him in cash. or you could buy a visa gift card, that is a credit card, just only has the amount of money you put on the card as available funds.
I would recommend Godaddy.
