Cpanel And Webmail Login Script
Author: Mike Danna
The majority of hosting providers, resellers, and developers use cPanel to manage their hosting. Logging into cPanel or webmail is not the most "graceful" of transitions in my opinion and usually with direct input (ie: www.domain.com/cpanel or www.domain.com/webmail) defaulting to standard browser authentication is just archaic. We created a simple PHP script to shield the standard login for cPanel and webmail access for users; there may be a few variations of this script floating around on the net, though I felt our version useful enough to share for download. The end result is a usable cPanel login form allowing your customers to easily login by selecting either cPanel or Webmail, entering their user information and pressing submit.
The functionality is simple, the goal is to provide access to 2 pre-configured ports and your domain or IP via PHP.
Below is a quick sample of how this looks in your PHP file:
$domain = "domain.com";
$port == "2083" || $port == "2096" ;
Now to go the extra mile we can give an SSL option with the ports which would be:
$port == "2083" || $port == "2096" ? $pre = "https://" : $pre = "http://";
Configuration is simple, once you download the file package, open "cplogin.php" located inside the "process" directory and enter your domain name where commented. The form inside the package is functional and provides optional SSL support when accessing cPanel or Webmail.
You may want to adjust the CSS to fit the style of your website. If so, simply customize the attached stylesheet, upload and the install is complete.

How To Transfer A Purchased Domain From GoDaddy To Hostgator?
I purchased a domain on GoDaddy but i want HostGator to host it. I purchased a hosting plan with HostGator and i login to their admin panel but im not sure where to start to move it over to HostGator from GoDaddy. Any ideas?
netdevour says:
You need to enter into GoDaddy’s domain manager – I am assuming you registered the domain with Go Daddy – and change the DNS to reflect Hostgator’s servers. You can get the correct DNS to enter from HostGator and there should be two DNS entries. Once you have the DNS from HostGator, go to the domain manager of GoDaddy and change the DNS. This will allow your domainname to point to HostGators servers…

I tried signing up for hosting with HostGator to build my website, but didn’t get no welcome email. Why?
I have contacted HostGator six times about this. It’s been five days after I signed up for hosting service place for $12.00 a month, and now, I have not gotten any email containing my login information. They said they would email me again time and time again, and I checked everywhere and didn’t get it. I’m about to file a chargeback on my credit card to get $12.00 credited back to my account.
Which hosting service will work for me? Please help. I signed up for GoDaddy.com for my domain name and I signed up at HostGator and typed in the domain name I owned from GoDaddy.com. But I got no email, never login, etc.. Is HostGator a rip off?

Do I need a web hosting service to build a webpage?
I like to build a webpage to market and sell products with dropshipping wholesale supplier. I registered for my own domain. Do I need a web hosting to build a webpage? I tried hostgator, supergreen, and many others, and none of them work or that I couldn’t login to cPanel. They won’t work. I’m sorry to say I have no experience in building webpage. Anyone that can help me will be greatly appreciated.

Question about Hostgator.com?
i bought a domain with godaddy.com, i have dreamweaver cs3 and now i have an account to Hostgator.com. i have their hatchling service ( the lightest hosting service they have) and i need to know how to find the FTP information that dreamweaver requires to upload my site.
Dreamweaver asks for an FTP host and a Host Directory followed by a login. i need to know if these categories have an alternate name that they might be listed as in host gator.

i have several accounts with hostgator so this is what to look for. the day you created your account, you should have received an email that looks like the following. your ftp can either be http://ftp.yourdomain.com (or) the IP address listed below. and then use the username and password for when your account was created. if you don’t recall seeing the email, then just send them a trouble ticket and they’ll respond within a day – sometimes a matter of hours.
Subject: Your Hostgator Account Information.
Body: Welcome to the hostgator family!
Your Domain: xxxxxxxx.com
Your Username: username
Your Password: password
Your sites IP address:
12.345.678.910
Your name servers:
ns000.hostgator.com

I signed up for hosting service on HostGator, but didn’t get email containing login info. Is it a scam?
I waited for two days. I contact them about it, and they told me they was going to email me the login information. I contact them four times now, and I registered my domain at GoDaddy.com, and I registered another domain at hostgator. Still, no email containing login information. Do you think it’s a scam and do you think I should file a chargeback on my creditcard for refusing to let me use their service?
Matt says:
No, Host Gator is real. Host Gator is a discount web hosting company out of Texas.
I once signed up for their service only to realize that they had grossly misrepresented what the terms
of my use could be, and so I told them I wanted a refund under their 60 Day money back guarantee (the next day) and it took THREE calls over 30 days until they actaully put the refund through, and then I waited 20 more days from that.
Funny story, it ended up working good I that money came back from Host Gator right around X mas and I used it to buy gifts !
