Anyone knows any company that provides video chat streaming host solution?
I am looking to have a pay-per-view video chat in my website. I am looking for a company that offers a host solution where they provide me with video chat through my website and I pay them a monthly fee. I found the eSentual Networks, but I am interested in complete browser-based system, with no downloading. Any suggestion will be helpful.
Please NOTE that I am not looking for a web host.

hey, i am making a video publishing website.i have 2 choices,

1- upload my videos directly to my account and publish em on the website. or,
2- upload the vids on a 3rd party video hosting site(youtube) and have it published on my website

i really don’t get the the pros and cons of the those. which one is the better solution?

BTW i have an unlimited web hosting plan so i wont have any storage or bandwidth problems, hopefully. And yea il be publishing a lot of videos (>1000 and growing.. ). Thanks in advance

There is no such thing as unlimited hosting plans (have they started selling disk drives with unlimited space in computer stores? I didn’t think so) Your hosting provider is overselling. If you have 1000+ videos to upload and viewers watching them, your host will kick you off the server in no time flat if you’re a resource hog.

    Suggestions for video hosting software?
I’d like to move away from services like YouTube and Vidmeo when hosting my Vodcasts. I’d like software, (preferably free or open source; but of course if I need to pay I will), that I can install on my linux based web host and will simply let me upload a video file in avi, 3gp, mpeg or wmv formats, will convert the file to flv format and will then automatically stick the file into a flash player and let me embed the file in my blog or another other web page.

I don’t need direct linking however, nor do I want one of those turn-key web hosting website solutions. I’m not interested in letting anyone else use the service (I don’t have the bandwidth) I just want something private, just for me that I can use for my videos.

Any and all SERIOUS and CONSTRUCTIVE suggestions would be great.
Given the answers I’ve received thus far it is clear that my question hasn’t been understood.

I am NOT looking for a desktop video converter, NOR am I looking for a stand alone flv player. I want a WEB APP that I can install on my WEB SERVER (as in my http://www.com) which will allow me to upload a video file to my WEB SERVER (THUS HOST THE FILE MYSELF) will then convert the file to flv format, stick it into a flash player and auto generate the embed code.

Basically I want a tool that gives all the backend file rendering capabilities of a video hosting site (like youtube for example) but it being private in that other people can’t upload their own videos or sign up for accounts or anything like that. People should only be able to watch the files I upload WHEN I EMBED THEM in ANOTHER WEBSITE.

So like you know how you can embed a youtube video into your own website, blog, whatever? Well THAT should be the only means to viewing the videos that I upload and convert.

    I hope that’s clearer
Please also note I am highly capable of performing a google search; and have done so already. It is ONLY because google and sourceforge.org haven’t turned up any relevant results that I am asking this question.

Please only answer this question if you actually personally know of such software.

What is a good free video hosting site other than Youtube?
I have a client who owns a projector review website and he wants to start making video versions of his reviews for products. Because he only gets money for his ads if people actually are on his website he can’t simply upload the videos to YouTube. If he did, people would just watch his videos without ever going to his website. An ideal solution would be to simply upload the QuickTime files to his website’s servers and host them right on the site, however, he is going to have to start paying more if he wants that kind of bandwidth. So my question is: How can we provide essentially the same end user experience as if the videos were uploaded on his website without actually doing that? What is a good video hosting service besides YouTube? (And don’t say Vimeo either because they don’t allow you to upload videos for commercial use.)
