Where Does Wine Come From?
Many wines can look back on a long history, since they come from might look centuries old vineyards, which employs over many generations with the wine, or they have been pressed from grapes that were already known to the Romans and Greeks in ancient times. These are just two points, the wine and history combine.
There are other points of contact, for example, if a winery is completely dedicated to the traditional production and works like his ancestors before 100 years and more. This is also a point of connection between wine and history.
People from all over the world in all cultures have always enjoyed wine with their meals, for fun, and for relaxation.
In this way, preserve traditions and create it in most cases very special wines that differ markedly from the mass-produced wines, and promises a much more enjoyable. As with most products you consume, the more tiem and energy and care that are put into the product, the better it tastes.
Another factor is the region where a wine comes from, because in some wine-growing regions of the world are already being cultivated for hundreds of years, vines and produced wine. In these regions have generally started with the Greeks, Romans, or wine.
Another area are the medieval monasteries, some of which still operate today, this wine and market it successfully. Thus, a monastery wine is automatically subject to history, even if he himself has been pressed and packaged recently. Wine has been around for many centuries, and it doesn't look like it's going anywhere soon.

Survey: If you are hosting a party would you do or like to have a cheese and wine party theme?
If you knew of a very good caterer offering cheese and wine party services and you are having an event would you pay to have a cheese and wine party done. This would include platters of sliced cheeses with grapes and berries, assortments of crackers and biscuits and a variety of wines to match the cheeses. Have you ever been to a cheese party? Would you like to have one? When do you think they are suitable? What would you want or do not want to have at a cheese and wine party?

sounds fun btu i would limit the guest to 20 it can get expensive and skip on games its a sophisticated party instead do music and old movies in the back ground or outside by a pool and use dim lights. this would be very fun in the spring mid summers night or early winter.

Beringer White Zinfendel would be a great one for your guests….fresh red berry, citrus and melon aromas and flavors and round these out with subtle hints of nutmeg and clove. The wine has a youthful exuberance that is appealing to anyone looking for an uncomplicated wine… (around $6.00 a bottle)
• Plan close to ½ bottle of wine per guest every 2 hours
• Parties before 5:00pm – or events with other alcohol – less wine is needed: ½ bottle per guest every 3 hours
• When guests serve themselves increase your wine availability by 10%

Hosting a wine-tasting party. Any tips?
I’d like to host a wine party and have each guest bring at least one bottle of their favorite. What types of food should I have available?
Also, should I contact a wine shop about making it a full-blown wine-tasting party? If you’re familiar with hosting those, what can you tell me? (I’m not sure how many people I’m going to have, etc.)
The best tip gets 10 points … and maybe an invitation if you live around Wausau, Wis.!

An exciting wine party is the “brown bag wine bash”. To set up this party you tell every guest to bring a bottle of wine below a certain price range, and bring a brown paper bag that covers the wine bottle. Capping the price ensures the wines are all about even (A “No chuck shaw” rule might be needed if you have cheap friends =) ). Number each bag and you have a blind tasting! This setup encourages everyone to try each wine and comment on the flavors. I like to set up a big whiteboard so everyone can leave comments about each bottle.
The order of the wine tasting is important. Either make people bring only reds or only whites, or separate the whites from the reds and bring out the whites first. The whites should be chilled (~50F) and the reds should be served at room temp.
For food, just have appetizers in small portions. I’d check websites like foodnetwork.com, epicurious.com, and foodandwine.com for good wine parings and recipes. Make the food fit the wine, red or white. Make sure to have a variety since you don’t know what wine your guests will bring.
Putting out a “spit bucket” will give people the idea that they don’t have to drink a glass they don’t like. Plus, people are less likely to lose their palette from over-consumption.
Enjoy!

Help Me With Hosting wine party?
I have to host a wine party. Need to know where I can buy a cheap under cabinet stemware holder (like $8-$15). They have them on ebay, but I don’t want to pay shipping if I can find them in stores. Also need cheap bar stools for my bar. Any cheap suggestions? Also send me your hosting suggestions, like music, candles, place holders, etc. Anything to add to the ambiance. Thanks

Kmart, Walmart and Target all have reasonable stemware. If you have Peir 1 sometimes they have really good closeout sales, we have an outlet and I find all my dishware there. If you need cheap bar stools, get the wood ones that are just stools or check out Ebay. Cheese, cheese, and more cheese,is the way to go with wine! You can get votives at the dollar store and light them anywhere!
