Yahoo Hosting Services

Advantages Of Text Messaging Service With the development of text messaging, more and more people all around the world are using this service for communication. There are several advantages of this service which have led its popularity. It is one of the cheapest and fastest ways to communicate with others.

Before, people usually use mobile phones to talk to each other. But nowadays, we rarely see these instances. Instead we see a lot of people typing messages in those tiny keypads, using their mobile phones to send text messages. The generation of todays mobile phone users have become texters, a term used to describe people who use text messaging to communicate.

The term SMS is a term another term for Short Message Service. It refers to the means of communicating by means of a mobile phone, PDA or computer to send messages. The term short stands for the standard number of messages which is 160 characters.

Usually mobile phones continuously send and receive information from the cell sites control channel even if idle. This allows your mobile phone to change cell sites as you move to other locations.

The control channel also serves as a way to send a message to your phone whenever someone calls which makes the phone ring. The tower then provides a voice channel frequency to allow voice calls.

The control channel is also used when sending text messaging. When an SMS message is sent, the message will be forwarded to the SMSC and then flows towards the tower. The tower then forwards the message to the mobile phone as a little piece of data to the control channel.

Text messaging has its many advantages over other means of communication technology. Text messaging allows mobile users to communicate privately without being heard by others. Sending an SMS messages is also a lot faster than composing e-mails. It is also very convenient since you dont need a computer unlike instant messaging and e-mailing. Text messaging also allows hearing impaired persons to communicate. Text messaging service is a lot more cheaply compared to the cost of voice calls.

Another advantage of text messaging is that whenever a text message is sent to a mobile phone, the message is stored in the SMSC. This means that even if the mobile phone is off or is unavailable, the message will still be received soon as the mobile phone is turned on or has a signal. Text messages can also be saved in the SIM card as long as it is not deleted.

In addition, text messaging allows subscribers to send messages to multiple users at the same time. This is called broadcasting which is also used by many companies to distribute advertisements, news updates and other promotional information to mobile phone subscribers. Some TV shows use text messaging service for their contests or polls. TV viewers can participate with the voting or contest just by sending text messages in certain number specified by these companies.

There are also SMS subscriptions provided by mobile telecom providers to provide subscribers regular information such as news reports, weather reports, sports news or any other interests.

Yahoo and Google also use text messaging services to provide a way for users to get information which include movie shows, business listings and driving directions. With the development of the General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), it is now possible to send messages more efficiently and faster.

One of the latest advancement in text messaging service is the introduction of the Multimedia Messaging Service or MMS which allows subscribers to send text messages combined with pictures or sounds. This service is available if you have MMS capable mobile phones.

Due to the many advantages of text messaging service, many people around the world are using this service to communicate with their loved ones even in far away countries. Text messaging service is also being used by business owners to communicate with their employees and business associates.

As far as I understand, paying for Yahoo web hosting services has nothing to do with whether you come up in search results or not. You can submit your site to search engines, and if the content is good, you will appear in the search results. This usually takes some time, so be patient.

Anyone still using the old Yahoo Website Services for hosting?
I am still stuck on the Yahoo Website Services to host my domain name and website and I have had so many problems lately. Does anyone else still use this old service? Emails to me are often bouncing back to people with errors or show up anywhere from hours to days later. I have sent multiple emails to customer care without any response. Their network status page hasn’t been updated since Dec 2005! I think the service is on autopilot. I want to give up and change hosting services but I can’t get a response from the contacts in my whois listing so I can transfer the domain ownership. Seems like no one is home. Anyone else have these problems? How can I get in touch with a human at Yahoo to help me?

Yahoo hosting service small business plan have 301 redirect option?
Yahoo Small business plan have any 301 redirect option available. How to make a redirect in small business plan account.

This issue is making me think of leaving yahoo after ten years. The basic Yahoo web hosting plan does NOT allow 301 redirects. I could not believe it and looked everywhere on the net. Finally I confirmed it with their help desk, who suggested i upgrade to a merchant solution. Why should i pay 30 dollars just to get a redirect. Yahoo is expensive, and on top , doesn’t allow this basic function. I think Yahoo is complacent because of its name. It doesn’t realise or care that other providers are fast catching up, and soon they will loose a lot of their business..
